GLAM FALL KITCHEN DESIGN

I love everything about Fall! Maybe it’s because I was born on September 29th. I don’t know. But it is definitely my favorite season!

I love the change in temperature and the way the sun shines differently through the trees. And the changing color of the leaves. I cherish the time making hot cocoa for the girls and movie night sitting by a big fire. And the smells from baking in the kitchen. OMG! Apples and cinnamon and vanilla! ?

I love sweatpants and sweatshirts and sweaters too! SO comfy!

My husband and I have bets on when we’ll get the first snow.(I always win!?) I try to get everything organized in the house while my husband works feverishly to finish up the yard and get the firewood delivered, cut and stacked. It really FEELS like we are preparing to hibernate like a bear or something! But I adore it!!

And, of course, Fall is the time to decorate! ????

I always start with our kitchen because this really is the heart of our home. Everything centers around our kitchen! Not just food! Conversation and laughter and memories!

So this is always where I begin. And I’m changing things up a bit this year. I’m not using traditional natural Fall colors in the house this time. I want to add a little decorator touch on the inside. I only have to look out our windows to see the  incredible colors anyway. And I’m letting nature do her magic outside.

This year I’m happy to say I’ve already started. And this Fall I’m using shades of purple as the main color!

About the color purple!

Purple is created from two gorgeous colors, blue and red.

Purple is associated with luxury, power, wisdom, creativity, and magic.

From a subliminal point of view, purple is the “blending” of red , a color associated with energy and excitement and blue, a color that evokes calmness and serenity. It is a perfect combination to add to your space!

Just like any other colors purple has shades too!

Light purple: feminine energy

Bright purple: richness and royalty

Dark purple: sadness and frustration

So think carefully about which shade of purple and how much you surround yourself with this color!

Physically, purple can have calming effects over the mind and nerves! It is the color of imagination and spirituality
If you are a Christian, you should know that purple is the color of pride
In the Chakra colors, purple is the Crown Chakra. It means it governs the mind, the nervous system, and brain!

In our Breakfast nook I added some blush flowers and gold leaves to glam up the centerpiece! I use the gold leaves in Christmastime too! You can use them on your fireplace mantel and your holiday wreaths too! Of course during the Holiday season we use crowns all over the house and I like to add some black and  leopard print accessories just to give a dramatic look!
